1973 Maestro/Market Echoplex EP-3. This is the one! Front badge shows 'Maestro', while the serial number sticker is 'Market Electronics' out of Ohio. These early EP-3's, with plywood and without the compressor board are considered by EP-3 devotees to be the best sounding years. Pages 27, 28, and 29 are the schematics for three different serial number sequences of the EP-3. He should be able to figure out which one matches your unit. If it's a guitar amp repair shop, there's a good chance that they haven't had much (or any) experience biasing a tape head. Question about Echoplex EP-3 sustain/repeats/motor., 08:46 PM. (I'm looking at the correct schematic for my serial number also). This is my 1974 Maestro Echoplex, given to me by my good friend Maynard. It was in pretty shabby condition when I took possession, it wasn't even working. However, I'm a fool for vintage gear so I went to work. My EP-3 has a serial number in the nineteens, which places it in the middle of the run of the EP-3. Like I said, it was in pretty bad. I've bought 3 EP-3's all less than the serial # 13000. I have a redface Echoplex EP-3 that's in the #9000s which I'm pretty sure is very early for the EP-3's. I've seen EP-2 Tube Echoplex's in the serial #8000 range so. Anyways, all of my 'plex's have been awesome sounding so I don't sweat the details.
Echoplex Ep 3 Serial Numbers And Double Swastika
O.K. I need yall's expertise!! I have an old Echoplex that I bought brand new way back around 1982. I want to know if it is an EP-2 or and EP-3. The case is black, it has 'sound-on-sound', there is a front panel that houses 3 vacuum tubes, it says 'solid state' on the yellow paper under the lid, the little 'echo on' light is rounded and glows orange (not the square top red light). I've been wondering just what it is that I have!!! Sounds great!! The only issue is the plastic handle on top of the lid is long gone, but everything else looks new. I try to take good care'a my toys!!! Thanks fellars! Steve
